If I had wings I would spread them wide
Without looking back, I'd take off and fly
To a far off place with a beautiful sky
Far away from judging eyes
I'd go to a place where all the people smile
And good vibrations spread for miles and miles
Where everything goes, everything is cool
No following unwritten societal rules
A place where no one judges you by your clothes
There are no facades, no reasons to put on shows
Your true feelings your never have to hide
Just follow your heart, let that be your guide
If I had my choice that's where I'd be
Where happy spirits float around free

Sounds like heaven to me. This is a wonderful poem. It made me wish that Earth could be like that, that we wouldn't have to wish to be somewhere else where things could be good. Thanks for the comment, they're always appreciated.

i just want to start off by thanking you for the kind words in your comment on my piece "in the shadows"... it helps ease my pian by knowing that i can touch people with my writing...but anywho, on th the comment on you "beautiful" piece for the lack of a better word. Without looking back, I'd take off and fly" that was such a beautiful way to begin. i loved your choice of words. this is such a powerful and spiritual piece. truly amazing... i love how everything about this piece seems to flow with such ease... i too have wanted to take off without looking back...keep up the good work my friend and alwaise remember to stay true to yourself and to your heart, or else you'll be no more...

that was a great poem! i second that emotion too! that would be the best if everyone could be themselves all the time and not have to worry about anything, no racisum (i dont think i spelt that right...), that stuff bugs me a lot how people can think so lowly of others just because of thier religion, sexuality, color, etc. everyone's the same in my opinion.

Thanks so much Av. I get really discouraged somedays and I just want to take off and go somewhere better. There are so many limitations in today's society and so many obstacles to self peace. I was venting to be honest. I'm glad you liked it though.

There comes a time in everyones life where when we must spread our wings and fly without ever looking back at what we left behind. This sounds like a really nice place to be. Seeing people smiling every day, no societal rules, no one to judge you, no reason to put on shows, WOW what a place that would be. I feel we can all relate to this write because so many of us walk around every day hiding our true feelings and not allowing our heart to guide us because we're afraid of what others may think of us.
