The Light I shall Never See

Your soul is broken:
Pieces are scattered over the earth.
Your words were spoken,
And lost in a world with no end.
Your bloody tears stream down your face,
Shimmering reflection of the man of yesterday.

Over the corner of my eye,
I can see your childish smile,
Your gleaming hair over my neck;
But memory is just a speck.

You are lost to me like nobody else before,
And I can’t pretend I love this darkness anymore.
I long for the light I shall never see,
Even if that means casting you away from me.

Silky stone are your hands,
Velvet coat I'll never glimpse;
This loneliness I just can’t stand,
I cannot live with this grief within.

The shadows of my past
Still tremble inside my mind.
I want all that I can’t have,
And I hate feeding upon this life.

There’s nothing you can do...
The seraphs of darkness have come to me
But I know that my love for you
Has crossed rivers I thought I’d never see.
Your tears of blood are streaming over me,
I keep longing for the light I shall never see...

Mark my words, dear love of my heart,
Dear god of the night that I must cast away.
Not the heavens or hell could tear me apart
Of the love that we have or the blood that we crave.
