The Ornamental Hole In The Garden:
The grass was raised, the digging started
Soil recycled to another corner.
A flowerbed that was never there
A space that had always, been so bare.
Trample the earth and lay the sand
Spread out the liner, big and black.
Turn on the water; the battle commences,
Gravity and plastic, against the senses!
With water rising, it’s shaping up
The nooks and crannies filled.
The paving laid to form the shape
By choice of tools, a hammer and tape!
With electrics ready and the wiring sound,
The fountain and falls are prepared,
Stones from the river collected in rain,
Reset all around, and inflicting some pain!
Plants and grasses strategically placed
To the left, the centre and right,
Have to hide the hose that’s feeding the urn,
There that’s it, I think I’m done.
A small picket fence, recycled again
From the garden and then the tip.
The growing grasses rearranged and stripped
By rearranged, I mean, cut and ripped!
Streetlight flickering across the way
Setting the scene for the evening rest
Troubles and worries should soon begin smoothing,
The sound of running water is said to be soothing!

Author notes
I've just rearranged the garden pond after the 'shitehawks' ate all my fish last year....
(shitehawks = seagulls)
