I am Eve, eating fruit,
and I could not stop with that apple!
In sun-drenched gardens, I dine on cherries –
Lips sticky and stained with their juice.
Peaches beckon, warm and ripe,
in thrall to their scent I surrender!
Swooning, I reach, I pluck, then bite
into downy, yielding flesh.
Maddened with it, mangoes are next;
will this hunger ever end?
With eager fingers I pry at the skin
to expose the sweet golden meat.
I am Eve, eating fruit,
and I could not stop with that apple!
All of my days, enchanted, I’ll roam
this exquisite, infinite orchard.

I'm not sure how this is erotica unless it has an underlying meaning but I liked this.
-
ha very nice! I love how it is so creative, and the abundance of fruit you used in it. Great job!

Great poem, Hon.. Oh this makes me soooo hungry for fresh, sweet vine-picked fruit.. And I don't care, I am Eve, I will eat to my heart's content!! Loved this!

Great piece of work. Fluid and visible. Made me hungry.

To see Eve thoroughly enjoying the ambrosial fruit salads of Eden is surely a more delicious picture than having her suffer for centuries for taking one lousy bite out of an apple. A real pleasure to read, and best of luck in the contest.

Thank you, David! This really was a rather defiant piece... heh

So glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comments, Shiny New! And I think you could be right. I will add this to the erotica category (maybe more readers will show up -- heh).

Excellent
Yum - I really think this should be in the erotica section - or is that just me? :-) Very vivid and luscious.........hmmmmmmm! -
I laughed out loud when I read this. It was so funny. You are a truly unique young lady.

Greedy, yes! And regarding Adam? In a way, HE is the orchard. Heh.
The poem was written for a male friend who told me that the sight of a woman eating fruit really got to him. So I just had to tease him.
Thanks for the comments!

And not even sharing with Adam? You should be ashamed - he likes fruit, too. I like the descriptions of each of the fruits - you used the senses very well in your imagery. Nice. (But greedy...lol)
