Scones with jelly.
Buttered bread.
Creamy milk
Ham and steaks.
Clear spring water.
Ice cream cones.
Fresh salads.
Apple cake.
Each adventure
the Five were on
was filled with food
and made me long.
What I remember
from Blyton’s book
was not the trips
nor crimes they solved.
It’s all the food
that they would eat.
It made me drool
and feel quite weak.
My stomach rumbles
even now.
I never thought
I’d want kidney pie.
I could almost smell
the lovely scents
that covered every
food-filled page.
So if you give
your kids these books,
prepare to cook
some British food!

Good
All that food would make me fat
I don't want to get like that
So I say right off the bat
I won't eat that; I won't eat that
