The Warrior

Majestic, in all his glory;
He rides the wind, like
a bat out of hell.
Demons, of the chase, behind him.

Sucking breath frantically,
pounding, feet striving for the
final goal; Charging forwards,
gathering momentum .

Reaching out, stretching,
muscles and sinews taut;
The flight, never ending.
Nostrils, flaring, eyes dilated.

Heaving flanks, sweating,
shaking legs, hold up this
loyal warrior, to his final
race of a life time.

Author notes

    Ooooh, Red Rum, what a cool name... *drifts off* Oh, sorry, anyway, your poem was great! I really enjoyed reading it. Your imagery and descriptiveness was great! The title really drew me in. It made you think it was going to be about some guy riding the horse. Great!
    God bless you,

    You captured a racing horse well not only in your description but also in the pace of the poem. This reader got a vivid picture and feel for the face.
    My mind went to watching Sea Biscuit

    Excellent imagery and piece, Cutiepie. I didn't think that the poem was going to be about horses at first (well, I know I should have guessed due to the background lol ) An excellent description and flow. I especially liked the lines:
    "nostrils flaring eyes dilated"
    It showed the horse's determination. Thankyou for sharing this wonderful piece. Take care, Kate

    Hey there, thats a nice poem you've got there. I like horses, except from when they throw me off. But luckily that hasn't happened to me in the last 10 years or so (mainly because I haven't rode a horse in about 10 years). But yes, that was indeed a great poem you've got there, well done.
