Searching

The first time I wondered,
what could the secret be,
of life and it's wonders,
it seemed mysterious to me.

As a child I would wonder,
what made the sky so blue,
why do the seasons change,
what makes the morning dew.

So many questions in my life,
had no purpose and no rhyme,
I kept searching for the answer,
was it all a waste of time.

The birth of my child,
was a miracle to behold,
another piece of life's puzzle,
another secret yet untold,

The secret was out there somewhere,
I kept searching through the years,
my search brought me happiness,
it brought heartache and tears.

Life did not surrender it's secret,
it would not open up it's door,
then one day I met a friend,
I would not be searching anymore.

This new friend spoke so gently,
as he told of a wonderful man,
he said I would find life's secret,
if I followed this great man.

Now my life is overflowing,
with God's love and wonders too,
he's created all that there is,
and whatever will be just for you.

Life is no longer a secret,
it's in every thing I see,
God created the universe,
he created you and me.

The secret to life is eternity,
you die to live for the Lord above,
life  will be everlasting,
wrapped in God's everlasting love.

This is so spiritual. God is waiting for his children, who were pre-ordained before they were in their mother's womb, to come to Him. Jason was an instrument, and you answered the call. What a wonderful show of how God works in our lives. This is penned with great meaning, and sincere depth of heart. Excellent entry. Thank you again, and good luck!

Wow...yes...the search for God, the search for personal spirituality...all of this is of great importance. Thank you for illuminating some of that journey in your poem. You definately take life, and reflect on it deeply. You write your words with power and confidence and bravery. And honesty. That's what I love about poetry that is infused with spirtuality...it has such a beautiful light, such a warm honesty. It's pure. It speaks for itself. Thank you for entering my contest!

I love the whole flow of this piece. You definitely showed another side of finding love and feeling complete. It reminds me of my first love and how I felt during that time. I can tell you have a very warm and open heart. You seem very optimistic with life as everyone should be. It's a great quality and I hope only the best. Thank you for your wonderful comment on my work. Many Blessings.

I wish I had as much knowledge of our Lord as you dear Jason, only you would find two meanings in this line. I only write what God allows me to feel about Him. If there is two meanings then He allowed me to write it. As you tell me constantly I cannot take credit for these things. I see both meanings too, I simply wrote from my heart. Thank you for the wonderful comment. God bless you my friend, Sandy

    Awesome!

What a Beautiful write to our Savior. What an awesome piece, I mean that. There are hidden messagase in here. Like when you said, "and whatever will be just for you.", There is more to than simple line that what appears!. He will give you what is just for you and no one els, and then some. But!, He will also give to you what is just and true, so like you said, "He gives whatever is just for you". Did you mean to write it with this message?? You HAVE to let me know!

Yes, we're all searching until we're found. It's funny how life works. . . How so many find God. . . and each one of those precious stories. . . Our job to find Him and to help others find Him. . .

I had a very unusual way in this respect. . . My father left me when I was very young, and my mother up to that point had become a 'stay-at-home' mom. . . We ended up living with my father's mother for a while and that really made a huge impact on my life the more and more I think about it. . . You see, my grandmother is and was very isolated, out in the rural areas, no car, and counting on family to get her around. . . and well, we'd drive her to church & of course we'd stay, because you can't just go to church and drop someone off, lol. . . It just doesn't work like that. . . And also my mother began to find her roots in faith again, so there I was exposed to it for the first time really (because my father wasn't and I'd imagine still isn't interested in God). And every since that time I grew to love the hymns, to discover God, and He became my Father and my father as well. . . Is God the answer to the question? Well, you'd think that'd be enough, but it seems that people want something more or they search for something else. I think too it is what God stands for: an open hand. He gives love, but He also gives life, a sense of belonging, of peace and rest and He works through and in so many. . . Our friends and our foes. . . He is the ultimate hope. Amen
