Harmony of Blue

Notice the harmony of blue,
As the chroma reflects the sky,
Beryl fused with a soft cotton,
Sings in a sapphire lullaby.

The crashing ocean chants aloud,
Notice the harmony of blue,
The murmurs of silver horses,
Bounding with an indigo view.

Realms of alluring cornflowers,
Creating a wash impression,
Notice the harmony of blue,
An aroma choir expression.

The silk of a blue birds feather,
Royal wings that flutter as two,
A mellow chorus from the soul,
Notice the harmony of blue.

I’ve always viewed the colour blue with a sense of tranquillity and beauty. This poem definitely convinced me that blue is one of the best colours around! I loved the lines “an aroma choir expression” and “royal wings that flutter as two”. These were truly gorgeous and added to the peaceful atmosphere of your poem. Your imagery is great and not overdone, the rhythm was even and your rhyme didn’t sound forced – instead, everything flowed smoothly to create a beautiful write.

    Thankyou for your entry!

Very descriptive, vivid imagery. I like the form and structure of this piece, it's interesting. I also like the feeling in this piece, very calm, almost soothing. Great write.

I have never experimented with any form outside of haiku or terza rima, so I wouldn't have been able to identify the style anyway--but I do think that it is a descriptive, vivid write. Now I come to notice that "notice the harmony of blue" was a repetitive factor in this piece, but since it's in structure, that's okay. This poem has a great deal of detail...and all three realms of sky, earth and sea seem to sing concordantly in this 'harmony of blue'. Absolutely wonderful job--this too I may have to consider.

    Many blessings,

I'm not really familiar with Quantem but this was an excellent poem with vivid imagery. I love the murmurs of silver horses which I think is an awesome sight to behold and the silk of blue bird's feathers are wonderul images. You've given blue an entirely new life. I enjoyed your poem imensely. Good luck in the contest. Avril

Ah very very very well done indeed. Really beautiful piece. I really enjoyed this. I love the wording, the description, the imagery. Very serene, calming. I just think this is a lovely description with beautiful vocabulary that really capture a moment. I'm not very familiar with the Quantern, but evidently I like it. I am one for repetiveness in poetry, and the line you chose as the repetition was a good one.
