America's Hope

God bless you Kevin,
be all you can be,
hold your head high,
it's your destiny.

The training is tough,
but you will endure ,
remember our freedom,
when tired and sore.

As I salute my great flag,
I salute you too,
our flags still wave high,
because of soldiers like you,

Your family is so proud,
your a fine young man,
who serves his country,
to defend his homeland.

You're every ones brother,
uncle, nephew and son,
you'll do whatever it takes,
till this war is won.

Some people are putting,
our country to the test,
but they found out,
our soldiers are the best.

Because of you Kevin,
and thousands more,
millions of people,
walked through freedoms door.

When you miss your loved ones,
when your away for awhile,
read all of our poems,
written to make you smile.

    One of your best

One of your best poems. i really felt it, it is simple and effective. If I might make a comment in general, remember that most of the time "less is morer" This poem achieves that. A very happy and holy Christmas to you anr yours,. if i do not get the chance to say so later.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment and thank you even more for supporting our troops while in harms way. I want them home safe too with their loved ones but while they sacrifice for us to live in this free country we must support them 110 percent. Thank you again and God bless our troops. Take care, Sandy

Go you! Its nice to see not everyone in this countries gone crazy. I think its great you support our troops even though some people can't seem to see the purpose. Not matter what the reason we still need to stay behind and cheer on our own people, its the simple privlages in this great nation that should make everyone feel the way you do and I sure am proud to call you my fellow american!

    sandygram,

This is another one that's sure to brighten anyone's day. This was wonderful. I suppose all we can really do is pray and hope for safety and that your grandson and Kevin will not have to go away.

    Kati.

This is such a wonderful way to show your son how proud you are. My own grandson is training with the Army rangers. I only hope the war in Iraq is over by the time he's done training. He's 22 and has been in the National Guard for 3 years. He got back from Germany last year. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my poem. I wrote it with your son and my grandson on my mind. I will keep Kevin in my prayers with my Grandson B.J. Take care
