of running my fingers
Through your long blonde hair
And weaving it's silky
softness
Into perfect french braids
Author notes
Silly, I know. I just love long hair. I can never braid my own quite right, but it's the best feeling ever to have someone do it for you. I was watching Anne of Green Gables the other day, and all the funny different braids she wears in the movie, and then I saw some people with long blonde hair...and this is what came out

Eww! Governesses wear their hair in 1 french braid...I always do two...with or without bangs, two look way better than one
Thanks for the comments!

Hmm. I did think of French Braids and Hair stuff, half up, half down. Looks terribly governessy without bangs.
I have no thought of that and no one will be looking at a governess who is well past her prime when there are beauties such as you writing poetry.

A HEADY and relaxing read!

very good
This type of yearning is why people go into hairdressing. Love the feel and smell of beautiful hair.
thanks again,

I think this is a sweet poem. There is something very intimate about touching someones hair I think. I love to have my hair touched and caressed. When I was young, my mom used to check our hair after we were in the woods (which was almost daily) for ticks. I would lay my head on her lap and she would stroke my hair looking. When she was done, I would ask her to look some more. When I got married, I would ask my husband to do the same thing. Not look for ticks,
just stroke my hair. It represents being loved to me.
Thank you for commenting on my poem Angels Dance.

my friend michelle tried to talk me into using one of those automatic braiding machines on her. it didn't work so well, and it actually pulle a bit out. i felt bad.
great poem, i find myself wanting to touch peoples hair. some just look so soft -
i once had hair down past my behind and it for the life of me would not stay in a french braid. this is one reason it's gone now. if it would allow itself some managability, i would have kept it, but it was extremely thick and unruly!
fun little poem. -
hehe, this poem makes me thing of shampoo and hair and being clean and reminds me...I need to take a shower. Thank you for reminding me. lol. hehe, i love playing with hair. of course i never took the time to learn how to french braid. I absolutely love it when when people start playing with my hair. I get kinda tingly and feel special. okay yeah, i'm kinda weird. lol.

That's so sweet. I often braid patients' hair when I have some free time at the hospital. Hair can have such sentimental value - I'm so glad that no one cut your grandmothers' hair for convenience's sake - I'm sure her hair helped her keep her dignity. Touching story.

I remember watching my mother braid my grandmothers hair when she was almost 80. She told them to cut it because it was hard for them to care for. But no one had the heart to cut it. For years I had long hair and thought of her each time I braided it.

Haha...hair braidy-ness...great word! It's not too difficult..try with strings first. French braids are hard...took me until I was like...14? Meh! Thanks for the comment!
