As I sit and watch you sleeping,
my heart is filled with joy,
I brush the hair from your forehead,
as you hug your favorite toy.
You'll wake at dawn tomorrow,
ready for a brand new day,
you'll remind me of your daddy,
as I sit and watch you play.
You are my grandson B.J.,
your in dreamland far away,
they're dreams about tomorrow,
it will be your special day.
It will be your first birthday,
full of excitement, cake and fun.
It will give me sweet new memories,
to cherish of my only grandson.
I hope to fill a life time,
full of happiness and joy,
spending time with you grandson
you're grand mom's special boy.
So hold on to your teddy bear,
till the moon is out of sight,
I wish you only sweet dreams,,
goodnight grandson goodnight.

Such a beautiful piece! I have 12 brothers and 2 sisters. Every night, I make the rounds of my house to kiss each and every one's forehead and whisper i love you, even if they cant hear me

What a tender, loving work of poetry. I feel these words with great passion as I have felt this way about each of my grandchildren. Especially my newest (little girl). Her sleep is so sweet. I know she communes with the angels for she smiles constantly. I love to watch a baby sleep, and so wish I remembered how it feels to sleep like a baby. This is elegant sandy. I simply love this poem! Thanks for the sigh and the smile.
