Broken Heart

Our summer love is almost over,
evenings are starting to turn cool,
only three weeks left to hold you,
then I must go back to school.

We talk about our tomorrows,
will love last while we're apart,
the thought of our love ending,
brings such sadness to my heart.

I never wanted to love you,
but the feeling was too strong,
I could no longer fight it,
our passion grew all summer long.

Moonlit walks along the beach,
watching sunsets on the bay,
the feelings of wanting you,
making love with you all day.

How can I leave you darling,
when you're such a part of me,
your words captured my heart,
now you want to set it free.

You never promised me tomorrow,
nor did you promise me the moon,
my heart will not stop loving you,
it tells me it's much too soon.

When the summer days have ended,
my heart shall ache for only you,  
my mind and body will be leaving,
my broken heart I leave with you.
