I Want To Live

I was going nowhere with my life,
I had fallen off the beaten path,
I abused and destroyed my loved ones,
then one day I felt God's wrath.

I almost died one rainy Sunday,
as I lay dying on the floor,
I began to pray to God Almighty,
I had never prayed before.

I did not know if he would listen,
my life was now in his hands,
I began to trust this stranger,
this kind and forgiving man.

I saw my life flashing by,
it was so horrible  to see,
who was this nasty person,
was this man really me.

I changed my life in that moment,
I lived to see another day,
Now I'm back on life's beaten path,
God's love shows me the way.

The faltering will falter only to to find God alter!
He bringeth upon us His infinitesimal blessings and tells us to be more prudent in our approach towards everything--Shubs

    This is so precious* *
To see poems of heartfelt emotion: gives me a smile on my soul.
And very well written, this `speak-in-ink` poem reminded me of
the day I gave myself to the Lord.
Thank you for the entry and good luck in the contest.
