Mad Captivity

Imprisoned by life, family, feelings
Straining to be free

The walls that surround us
Always changing with a need
A need to escape
Be gone
Get away

We are never satisfied with what we are
What we have
What  we do
All captivity, trying to hold us
To the madness of everyday

And yet we keep moving to the new
The improved
The almost perfect
The escape being everything we think about
Everything we want
Everything we need

And finally I ask myself
What really is our escape...
But yet another mad captivity

Was that a hint of sarcasm that I noted in your typing?????...lol. Tell you what I will meet you in the middle of our little dispute and say that if you are up in natchitoches one day around 1pm swing by and I will let you take me to lunch.........hehehehehehehe Now how could you resist a smile like that or an offer like that??????? Try and be good, I know that is hard for you but try for us all.....lol. I shall be keeping an eye out for our lunch date!!!!

Hammer made an interesting comment: what if our escape really is just as bad as the other place? Lots of people hope for Utopia; a place with no work, slavery, starvation, disease... Sometimes you have to realise how impossible it is to escape from anything.

    Good luck!

Hehehehe.....well when you decide to make a run for the border, dont forget that you owe me dinner! I am also thinking of throwing in a movie for the accumulated intrest, ya know that stuff is compounded daily....lol.
I think you are on to something here with this write about escape. Kinda like the grass is always greener on the other side of the pasture until you walk all the way over there and then the grass where you left looks to be greener........lol. I guess it doesnt hurt walking all the way over there though becuase you get some great exercise...lol. Great write girl, I enjoyed reading through it and seeing your view on life. Thanx for sharing and take care.
