Happy Galileo

Sweet lady
Sad addiction
And the furrows of an age
Go on silently walking
Through the capably muddled facade
In the corner of the finite
Peaking softly through the cage light
Sits a happy Galileo
Nursing comfort
Holding heat

So rest here gently pining
With a certain sad affinity
Take your time to taste the wine
For it is nature’s beauty
And possibly the soul can see
The wish of a daydream singing
And, faithful, end the mourning war
It wrought upon its casing

As the wanted add seems stranger now
My need for work is taking
The world around is sleeping sound
The ground beneath it, shaking
In entering this virgin wing
Upon this lost estate
Finds an injured sense of continence
A sliding slavery fate

This passing stride
This battle cry
This passive, pallid prelude
It tripped along the right and wrong
To break its daily curfew
Looping ‘round this pattern sound
And paying pound for penny
It’s twice as strong and far too long
A ransom one too many
Breaking through
But far too true
For any king to listen
Once is nice
But twice is right
The price for someone bitten
Laughing
I am leaping
In the moonlight playing sweetly
