Though Death often seems an ending,
it begins a new cycle of life.
The darkness is cut away from the light
as though it were sliced with a knife.
Knowledge and trust in the spirit
have created fine gold out of dross
And the dragon’s triumphant transformation
can’t be perceived as a loss.

A significant change lies in your path,
as unplanned events unfold.
This “something new” can not take place
until you release the old.
Illusions must fall to expose the truth
and Death carries so much pain;
But to inherit the treasures that you await,
this way must end and be born again.

Author notes
I wrote this series last summer and began posting them. I took the prose version of the Celtic Dragon Tarot interpretations and put it in verse form. I'd also included the illustrations, but was asked to remove it because of the copyright infringement. I'd given full credit to Conway and Hunt and didn't claim them for my own, but there were apparently other legalities.
So...for the legal beagles out there.... These are MY words, although they were inspired by Conway.
more to come....

Dear W D,
I remember when I first had my cards read and I cut the cards and the "DEATH" card was there. I started for the door, but the girl told me that it didn't necessarily mean a physical death, but the end of one thing and the beginning of another.
I was very glad to hear that.
I think that you did wisely in choosing for subject matter
such a vast array of material such as the Tarot.
This poem I've read is well thought out and composed. I don't have to refer to a glossary of terms or make needless
extrapolations, oftentimes faulty, of your meanings.
You'll excuse me, but I've a bit of a migraine.
Nice piece of writing. Will look at you things further when my meds kick in!
Regards,
John-Las Vegas
