Aw, this made me chuckle when I read it! Such a very powerful image with it I could see the robins in my mind and that means the haiku is +++ A +++ !!

Thanks, Ellis This is not one of my better ones though
Haiku are definitely not as easy as they may appear, as entrants in Myron's Haiku Workshop contest I'm co-judging soon discover

    OK...

I've never gained a lot from Haiku.
It seems so easy a thing to do.
That may be because I have no clue
As to what Haiku is about; do you?

Thank you for your kind comments and applause, Tom Always means a lot from you. Yeah, I usually try to make it less than the 'maximum' 5-7-5. The discipline for me is keeping it to one comfortable breath length (when recited). That's the original Japanese discipline . Yours are always so beautiful, I don't notice the syllables - which is how it should be.

    envelops the lawn ~with grasshoppers

    Love your haiku ~Gennelle~
applause ~So sweet ~good Morning my friend
    Red breasted robin
    harmony with last sunset
    grasshoppers nightmare
    5/7/5 ,,no punctuation marks
    no titles ,,no translating,
    no confusing mother nature ..
    The "significance" is the story
and you have done this so well
in my opinion ..I just can't get
away from the discipline thing ..
Thanks for sharing with us ~~~Skinwalker

    Lovely

    Hi Gennelle:
A lovely Haiku you have penned here Gennelle. Wonderful visual to see in our minds eye as the Robin moves through the leaf litter hunting for food. Truly a buffet in the making. Thank you for this lovely write. Bill

Delightful expression of vibrant life in miniature.
We do not appreciate enough the good that birds do!
And they sing for their supper, too! --Dee

Goodness, it reminded me of my poor rosebush, the insect diner, but you have moved one level up the food chain!
The robins are the reason why I don't poison my garden.
    Sweet haiku.

Thank you Mari! I appreciate your wonderful comment very much. The birds are so cute to watch, picking through the leaves to find their 'menu choices' of bugs and grubs.

It shows beautifully the whole scene! My thought went straight to the birds in my backyard, which is a birds paradise, lots of fruit, seeds and bread to their satisfaction
    Lovely haiku Gennelle!
    Kisses and love,
    Mari

Thank you Nicolette! I wasn't sure if this one really conveyed the image as it struck me; so I'm very relieved and pleased you liked it.

    Beautiful image!

What a beautiful image you've painted, Genelle - wonderful image and moment captured in time! The "nature's buffet" is absolutely stunning! Now that I've tried my hand at a few haiku's I can appreciate the beauty of yours - great work!
