I sit at my window
gazing out at the millions
and millions of stars
sparkling like tiny diamonds
right in front of my eyes.
All is calm, all is quiet
and all is perfectly still
as the rest of the house
is soundly asleep...
As he is as well...
The stars are twinkling
in the mysterious way
you only see in the early hours
during short summer nights...
Slowly fading
into sky that doesn't seem to know
if it's supposed to be blue
or a pale shade of lilac...
I look longingly at the morning glow
and wonder how anyone
can sleep through such beauty...
But I can imagine him
wrapped up in a blanket of dreams
as I sit here
dreaming with open eyes
of the day when we can be together...
I am a flower of the night
blooming best when the stars
are sparkling like diamonds
in a dark black sky...
And as he sleeps
and the sky becomes lighter and lighter
I fall asleep
just missing him
in the land of dreams...

Author notes
Okay, back on July 17, 2003, I wrote a poem called 'Maybe' from the point of view of the guy I like, as if he were in love with me. I wrote it somewhat longingly, as if the times of day we sleep govern whether we can be together or not...and way back then, I wrote it with the intention of writing a second part from my point of view...so here it is

Beautiful!
Very thoughtful, and very deep Hart. It's absolutely beautiful the way it's written, and just the structure alone is great. The background I think matches it well, it just fits. To be able to put emotion on paper like this is truly a talent. You've got a lot of that
Anyway, great work and be sure to keep it up! Always dream.

Oh, this is truly beautiful...! The words just flowed nicely together...A very romantic, thoughtful and sweet piece!! =) I'm so glad that I have read it, inspiring...hmm...reminds me of how I used to write like this as well to someone I loved, near to my heart... "Just Missing..."

Well, I wish I had written this. I can totally relate to it.
