A loneliness of the soul
To hate what they just don't know
never got
always wanted
A prejudice of the mind
To want a heart you just can't find
icy cold
chiseled clean
An illness of the spirit
To not know even when you're near it
beside you
inside me
A halting of the frame
To try so hard but never be the same
never ending
everlasting
Depression is...

Certainly sounds like you are defining depression to me, or at least a form of it. I enjoyed this.
Good luck.

Hey, I like what you have done with this feeling. I like how you define it and then sum it up with the last two lines of each stanza. As you define depression in each stanza my mind is drawn to a reason that you speak of depression, and perhaps I am wondering aimlessly, I do tend to do that every now and again. I think you did a great job with this write and funneling it down to what depression is....... was pretty nifty. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing this with us, take care.
