Guilt is a slice of humble pie

i feel guilty for the things that I do to obtain this world view.
and if the stars are boats under my breath,
then they are rocking hard and my lungs are swimming.

don't push me under the current if you want me to live.
I'll sooner be washed up on the shore, quenching this thirst
by sucking enlightenment out of the spaces between grains of sand.

I feel guilty for the things that I do to obtain this world view,
but every new desperate sigh brings a new face to this shape,
and in the sunlight I'll spin and twirl, creating reflections
that the masses will dance to, fight to, cry to, die to.

I feel guilty, but I'm not teetering.
I'm standing against redemption
with the fulcrum in its right place.
