Panther Of White

Protecting me from
Anything harming my path
Not once shall I fall
The guardian is here
Here to watch over me
Eternally
Respectfully

Overseeing my continuing journey
Following in her predecessor's paw-prints

Who exactly is she?
How did I receive this honour?
Is this my fate forever to be?
To be protected by this creature
Emanating from within

I think a little punctuation would not do any harm in this. It would help the flow of it, I think. Go, jump to it! GO! GO! GO!

Have you read Philip Pulman by any chance? A great spirit guide.
Now, I know it's a serious poem, and I apologise for putting this in. Please delete me if you want. It's by Ogden Nash

A panther is like a leopard
    Except it hasn't been peppered

If you should see a panther crouch
    Prepare to say ouch

Better still, if called by a panther
    Don't anther.

Best wishes. Lovely poem, lovely image. I like the way you've repeated to be, in the last verse. You've got different shades of meaning - to exist in life, and to accompany.

spirit guides facinate me...i wish i knew more about the subject...good poem...it seems there would be a lot of things mystical about a white panther.

Another nice piece on this personal subject of yours, though I like the depth and power of the other one ("Panther Calling") more, I think this is still a well done piece with a good use of wording and emotion/power put into that few of lines. I like the use of the questions in the last stanza, as if you are directly questioning your inner self and soul, rather than any person in particular. This piece helps add to the conveyance of this spirit guide's vital significance in your life and it shows the hope and strength it allows you to hold within yourself. Thank you for sharing this piece and good luck in the contest.
