The Mended Teddy Bear

Once forgotten,
and ruined by the frozen grasp
of apathy, and cruel indifference
the Teddy Bear now rests joyfully,
no longer confined to the empty shelf,
but instead is liberated in loving arms.
Removed from a drab, and dusty
half-hearted existence,
his lifeless cotton stuffing
discarded
this once hollow shell is now filled
with the purest love.

Mended, with a caring touch
beheld as beautiful
by the One who loves him dearly,
so very much.
The thinly stitched smile
no longer remains
as false masks and iron shields
are proudly ripped away
and are replaced instead
with eternal grins of happiness
and loving sincerity.
Muddled, cottony brains
no longer condemned to rot
have become obsolete
as his head is now full
with fresh confidence
and vivid thoughts swim
in crystal clarity.
Gazing in adoration,
Shining eyes behold his love
and now instead of despair,
fall tears of joy.

At long last,
realization has sprung
These long, and lonely years
were self imposed
by foolishness, and lamenting fear.
Now, he is snuggled warmly
with endless hugs
and cherishes the many kisses
delivered by the One he loves.
Mended, and reformed
haphazard stitches are no more,
instead is he completed
by the strongest bonds
of a love never to be undone.
