I remember every year
on my 'Birthday'..
You would give me
a single red 'Rose'
and say,
'I love you'..
I'm so blessed
you are my 'Daughter'..
Daddy,
I know you did not plan
things this way,
Daddy it hurts so much,
for you have passed away
on my Birthday..
I visit you each year,
I bring you a
single red rose ,
to place upon your grave..
I say..'I love you'
I'm so blessed you
are my Father..
I 'weep' as
I must walk away..
I'll visit you
again 'Daddy'
On my very next
Birthday!!
'I Love you'
Dad!!

oh my...that is sooo sad how he passed away on your birthday!! I was like reading this and my mouth dropped wide open when I saw that! I think it is so neat how you visit him every year on your birthday and leave him a single red rose and say how blessed you are that he is your father...so heartfelt your poem! Excellent write here!

ok this one brought me to tears i hope it's not a true story. my father passed away almost 10 years ago (not on my birthday, that would have been just...ugh...), and sometimes it still feels like yesterday.

aw thats the first poem that even came close to making me cry well done..... much emotion was put into this of that i am sure of. I know what its like to have someone die on your birthday and the years rage on full of bitter sweetness thanx for sharing
