Ethereal Dance

Smiling,
Giddy, joyful souls
are bound in the ether
by silvery cords
woven from the purest love.
Transcending the vastness of space,
and swimming to Earth
they softly giggle,
and commence their dance
united,
in the gentle breeze
of a warm, summer evening
under moon and stars
that shine on them alone.
Dawn peeks shyly
over tangerine horizons
and in their eyes, sparkling radiantly:
the light of love,
to which the glow
of every winking star
pales in comparison.
Tangled in each others arms,
they descend into bliss
and whisper their secrets
as the heavens crawl
in orbit around them.

I absolutely love it. Your title really opens up the possibilities here and the poem appoints many an understanding of different states of emotion. Well done, Tony.

Oh WOW, Ark, this was truly a great piece. I loved the ending... as the heavens crawl in orbit around them Made me feel as if these two lovers were GODS and that all earth stood still. Like the the story Mallanaga wrote near the end of his life used to instruct young brides before their weddings. But it centers on The great God Shiva, terrible destroyer of worlds, and his wife, the beautiful goddess Parvati locked themselves away in their room in their palace on Mount Kailash while the white bull, Nandi, stood guard outside the doors. They were in there making love for over TEN THOUSAND YEARS...this book is also known as the Kama Sutra in case you didn't know. Yea this was really really good, ark.

Imagery is strong as hell in this, which is probably my favorite side of poetry. And, at the same time, what you want to convey is not hidden by all the bells and whistles. Definitely a vivid potrait, which seems to write its own words that are easily picked out from all the sights. One of the best I read today

sometimes love touches that soul that sings..
like chord that flies within the air..
    echoing sweet melodies.
    I did enjoy this!
Keep penning on one stroke at a time!

    a pleasant surprise.

OH wOw!! this was kind of sensual to me! (then again that happens to one after a bottle of sake dosnt it?) It was So surreal and extra terrestrial. It was a very soft journey and you sustained a magical kind of eupthoric fealing steady like I.V. drips throught the entire thing. You must have been in a most beautiful place when yuo wrote this.
