We trim her up nicely whenever we take the urge to flee
A helm of different propulsion is kept hidden out of sight
For when upon the open waters we sometimes take a flight
Up above the clouds we navigate our wicked frigate ship
Soaring out of atmosphere to make our uncharted docking slip
Sure we plunder all along the mainland and ports of every call
But other times we leave this earthly realm to go and have ball
See now every sailor is not just versed on sailing upon the waters tow
For all the men aboard me vessel knows of sailing through the flow
When slipping gravities bodily bounds from each planet we have traveled
We have to be real careful to be unseen or our plans will come unraveled
A cargo’s hold of lumber will fetch a handsome price upon the moon
But if the shippers guild up there finds out our fates are sealed in doom
They will stop at nothing to destroy us or to catch our roguish band
For they control the shipping charters for supplies from space back to land
Tell me you’ve never held a cutlass just a smidge rightly too light
And that Blackbeard wasn’t known for awesome feats of manly might
Well all these little trinkets come from far off distant ports among the stars
See what I’m letting you in on well get us both a long visit in locked iron bars
So keep this chat among us, and don’t let it escape your mumbling lips
The sights of flying cogs and caravels and oh so grand galleon ships
So before you think of signing on with my mysterious clannish little crew
You keep this secret guarded or find yourself floating in the wild blue
Make your mark upon the papers and stow away your shambling gear
Oh and tell me mate to put our mark upon your pittance of an ear
Cap’n HammeR

New words wander worlds -
Pastures plead for mercy
As the raiders wreck reasons
To exist in this pirate life.
I like your poem very much. It's a grave situation, pondering planets at times. -
Thank ye kindly kjack, now let me fill ye in about that scurvy dawg Blackbeard, ye dont want to be a hanging out with the likes of that one. No sir, he be taken ye fair maden aspect and changin the whole lot of it.
Yeah the beard just wouldnt do at all.....lol. I be figuring ye would be enjoyin the sea if'n ye was in the arms o mr right set adrift upon the big blue.
Thank ya for the lovely comment and for the congrats. I enjoyed this contest immensly. FifthDove, Queen, chasingtheday and NeverGiveUp are all so much fun to write with. Everything seems to go better with some great people. I appreciate you stopping in and having a read through this. Take care. -
Aye, Aye, matey? not sure if I spelled that right. Oh well, you know what I mean, I think. Very well deserved silver trophy. Congratulations. Now, matey where's the treasure? I did get the most awesome images when I read this. It was almost as if I were right in front of Blackbeard himself. I don't think I would make a good pirate though. Hideous is not the word for what I would look like with a bandana on my head, and a long beard. Let me not forget the patch over me eye, ewwwwwww, that would be horrible. I guess I am just not cut out for the open seas. Anyways, this was a truly wonderful write. I just loved the way it all flowed, and the rhyme was splendid. Great job.

Why thank ye much there lass, and as fer the hemp I fear we done smoked er all up in anticipation, but Im sure we can find sum'en else to keep our spirits bolstered. Me first piece of protection be me chain mail loin clothe fer them pesky sharks and a stray cutlass edge to turn back. Cant be bobbitless upon the high seas ye know............

Arrgh....I be thankin for ye puttin ye good eye upon me write an a takin a shine to it. Fer what be a good tale without a bit o' fantasy rippin here in there. Like the oceans tide never know what she be bringin in. I be appreiate'n yer words, now ye keep the wind upon ye back and the main sails full.
-
Congrats on the silver! Braid some hemp into your hair and celebrate...just be careful where you place your cutlass. You wouldn't want any accidental loppings off your Bobbitts.
-
Good grasp of piratey vocabulary and spirit indeed, great descriptions and liked how you worked in a fantasy aspect... you definately deserved the trophy
Very nicely done, congratulations, Cap'n.

Me ships rigged right and trimmed tight, I assure you lass. Never know what vermon ye may find floatin around in the wide open. Ye never know from port to port what it holds in store, or the goods ye can be a tradin. Some o'the fineries to be had along the coasts of here and there, what a treat! I see that we be enjoying each others way with words, swapping tales in the cargo's hold amongst other things, like sharing some rum. Ye be welcome to run amuck this frigates sails. Tis a pleasure to have ye a readin and take care.

Amble by just any time, Im sure the party shall not end. But dont forget to bring the rum or out the door with you we will have to send.
Thanx for the comment and take care, good luck in the quest for gold. -
You go!
I shall have to find the map to the place where you state
Or search the whole world over and hope Im not too late
To snatch your buried treasures whilst you sleep away the hours
Dreaming of pretty ladies and those dandy lion yellow flowers
In oldpoety your say with misdirection upon your cracked lips
I bet you kept it closer than that, like the swords on your hips
To search hither to across the sea of writes would surely keep me huntin
So instead I think I shall just plop down here and try to think of somethin
Another way to guile you from your hard earned treasures cache
And while your not a lookin to slip me hand into your golden stash!
-
hehehe i feel like getting my new peg-leg on and doing a dance on the plank, i hope i don't slip, those sharks look mighty hungry down there. a great poem
