For Joe...

I know that things have been rough

And life’s been filled with pain

I know we’ve often stumbled

Down a rocky lane

But I’d not give up one second

On even the steepest road

If it meant not having you here

To help me share the load

Lately it seem the rocks are high

That we must overcome

And the path so heavily littered

That we just want to succumb

Till I see you there beside me

Love shining in your eyes

There is noting quite so magic

It’s then I realize…

Everyday God gives me a blessing

While you are in my life

Every moment, I am lucky

As long as I’m your wife

Author notes

I wrote this for Joe's birthday.  It wasn't exactly what I set out to write, so I'm hoping he likes it.  I plan to give it to him tonight.  Please tell me if you see any typos or have any suggestions.  ~ Patti ~

Awwwwwwwwwwwww That was such a pretty poem, I could feel what you felt when you typed these words down, keep up the great work and never let anyone ever tell you, you cannot write cause you can. I loved this poem. Jennette Miller

I love this poem. It relates to a friend of mine. He's going through some stuff right now being separated from his girlfriend because of circumstances beyond their control. I can imagine him saying these things to her (other than the last bit lol)...very emotional write filled with love and hope. I liked it!
