Inner Soliloquies

Missing image
In these lucid moments
My convoluted life
Becomes a discernable constellation
As I connect the dots
Between
People, places and events
Animals too

At long last
A map of retrospection revealed
Fleeting glimpses
Of clarity and resolution
Deliver me
To compassionate insight
With steadfast resolve

To walk in earnest
On roads less traveled
To believe
In things I cannot see
To fill my cup to the brim
From the overflowing well of love
Quench the thirst  of those in need

Embody all that’s good that I can be
Deliver the promise
Laying dormant within
To be the son, the father
The brother, the friend,
The soul mate to the one
Who waits in love

All this
And then some
Trajectories revealed
Promises made in conception
Unfold on distant shores
Message in the bottle
Inner Soliloquies

Author notes

My life has been, and continues to be full and rich beyond my wildest dreams.  Rich in immeasurable ways that transcends material wealth, but rather in the claiming of personal power, the realization that I am constantly evolving and laying claim to my place in this world. Spawned not from external forces but from the germination of the seed that lies within. Learning to trust the voice inside that utters the inner soliloquies.

I haven't been able to write from the place I used to for some time and it is a comfort to me to read your poetry. It is a reminder of quiet strength, wisdom, and what it means to call oneself a poet.

Ever the optimist Henri. This is rather inspiring. It creates a mental image of someone completely at peace with themselves and the world around them. Someone who has found serenity and meaning. I love the concept of message in a bottle. We never know what will fall at our feet - which can make life a pretty exciting experience. When clarity descends - decisions are so much easier to make.

Thanks for sharing so much positivity ...

Henri, this reads like a promise to the self, rather than a proclamation of fact or experiences. Your words are eloquent and inspiring. I too have discovered the joy in helping others, regardless of how insignificant the gesture appears to be... and there’s good Karma in that. Good write – I enjoyed very much. Regards, Helen

You've been so lucky to have a wonderful life. May I touch you, maybe it will rub off. I've had a huge life some not wonderful at all. But I still seek the same things. This is beautiful introspection, you're beautiful.

it seems to me like you fell on the thesaurus. there is so much clutter in here, where you use long overblown words you could have used simple ones, theres alot to say for someone who can find a to the point word.

the sentiment behind this is great, finding oneself and finding happiness in ones self is probably one of the greatest achievements.

I loved this poem. It seemed to be (to me) a thoughtful piece of insight on your own life, understanding your choices, the paths you took, deciding upon what to do next...I liked reading the author's comments as well. It was a nice touch.

it is the voice inside that whispers wisdom when the world screams otherwise, and it is the inner voice that offers clarity when all else is veiled.
Nice to be reading your thoughts again.

    Amazingly soothing

Your words amazed me and touched a few strings deep within my essence. You have observed and pondered events occurring inside and around you intensively and justly. It is the mark of a soul that can only live from compassion - our most precious gift that will ultimately free us from the devastating insanity of this illusion in space and time. You are way ahead of the pack and I commend you for stopping and turning back to tell of the things you have seen. Thank you for creating and sharing. I tremendously enjoyed reading your words.

    good

"lucid moments" that to me suggests that there are moments that are not lucid, but from the comment i get the idea that this isn't so. well written, you sound wise and at peace, i'm a tad jealous.

"Learning to trust the voice inside" something we are all capable of, when the time is right, everything is as it should be. There are those moments in our life when we just "know" how things are. When we just know "what should be". And, you know, even if they end up being different. One still knows, and things still fall into place. I am so genuinely happy for you. That all these areas of your life are bringing you such a deep contentment. And that you feel the richness of these moments. May they last you the rest of your life.

This is one of those "lightning" poems. You know where you read it, read it again and realize that everyone's life could be this way. If we just stop listening to the "false echoes"..that surround us. That we can all stop and listen ..and things fall into place. In my mind, Henri, I can see you smile. I wish you all happiness.
