9 - The Hermit

Solitude

The Hermit lives in solitude
    on his lofty mountain ledge.
He studies scrolls and ancient books
gains knowledge and refines its edge.

Surrounded by faces from the past,
    experiences toward a present time,
Astral teachers tell the dragon
life’s path is tangled like a vine.
~ ~ ~
Though you may prefer some silence,
a time of being left alone,
Take care to heed some good advice ~
    avoid decisions cast in stone.
Pay attention to your body.
Be sure to nourish your soul.
Be attentive to your health,
and happiness will make you whole.

Author notes

I wrote this series last summer and began posting them. I took the prose version of the Celtic Dragon Tarot interpretations and put it in verse form. I'd also included the illustrations, but was asked to remove it because of the copyright infringement. I'd given full credit to Conway and Hunt and didn't claim them for my own, but there were apparently other legalities.
So...for the legal beagles out there.... These are MY words, although they were inspired by Conway.

more to come....

Very good advice in this one! I will heed its message. (Seems like your poems were written just for me.)

The rhyme was good. I loved the message at the end--timeless. The meter seemed a little strained. It can be hard to find the rhythm when the feet keep changing. Otherwise, cool image (from words; no pic here).
