Moments of Love (Where Happiness is Found)

I called him on the phone
Just to hear his voice
Though I could not understand
All that he said to me.
I love my little nephew
And he loves me.

She ran and screamed my name,
Jumped into my arms,
So I held her tight
As she gave a wet kiss to me.
I love my little niece
And she loves me.

I came home as I often do.
We chatted for a while
As he caught up on my life.
"I'm proud of you" he suddenly said to me.
I love my dad
And he loves me.

I watched her with the grandchildren
As she taught, instructed and loved.
I realized how she had
Done all that for me.
I love my mom
And she loves me.

I felt so ashamed for what I had done,
So I called my dear friend
To pour out my heart
And he listened to me.
I love my friend
And he loves me.

I went to play on a swing
And I heard a still small whisper
"Just be my child."
For a few moments it was my Father and Me.
I love my Heavenly Father
And he loves me.

Author notes

This is where I pursue happiness - in meaniful relationships. Spending time with those we love is the best thing to do to experience happiness and joy.

I agree. There is no better way to pursue love than through meaningful relationships. Mother, Father, children ,friends and God from whom all love comes.
Thanks for reading and commenting on my work. I do appreciate it. Sorry, for being so tardy, I've gotten behind on my reading.

    Regards,

this is a very sweet and honest piece. The simple structure beautifully highlights the straight-forward nature of happiness in the people around us... those things right under the nose that we take for granted, but are the real source of joy.

This was such a beautiful tribute to those you love, because you know they love you. Normally I don’t like reading too much repetition, I felt it gave this piece a little extra to it. Nicely written.

A very simple and great link of thoughts communicated. I really like the succinct way that you came through each relationship in turn, to end with THE important one. If only all people could keep the connection to their spiritual side without condeming what others are doing or how they are finding the same connection. Jesus taught the golden rule, and so few people have the courage to follow it - this was refreshing and straightforward. Thank You.
