I saunter through the flames
Resolute against tribulation;
Within my soul lay the courage
To face any adverse situation
For I enter this battle prepared,
Bearing anointed sword and shield;
With my creator standing nearby
I advance onto this battlefield
I crush my iniquitous nemesis
As he attempts to lead me astray;
Courage guides me along my path
Alongside renewed faith each day
Strength, that virtue deeply interred
Radiates forward from within me,
Spurring me to continue the fight
And claim my foretold destiny
Here I stand, a woman warrior,
The soldier who accepts no defeat
Demons may rise to seek possession,
Yet fortitude they can never beat
The spirit’s fire purifies my soul;
To evil, my soul will never bend...
My weapons are divine destroyers
By which atrocity meets its end.

Wonderful! I could really relate to this and it is beautifully written. The vocabulary, the choice of words and the rhyming are all exquisite. I too have often imagined myself as a warrior, much like an Amazonian warrior, or like Artemis herself, fighting evil in the world and protecting the innocent. Beautifully written sister!

Excellent write! I like the stroing image set forth of a woman warrior. Really there are too many women I see who would be the victim instead of defiant! You're a tough one I know and will always prevail because it is in you to fight for what you believe and chase what you want and demand what you deserve and no less.

very good. when I read the titel 'Trial By Fire' I thought this is just some lame poem. but I was wrong, its so much like a real trial by fire. I know I had one a long time-age. you really got it close to the real deal. close Enough for me. -

I love this! It's very beautiful and your author's comments are an inspiration as well. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes...The block of granite which was an obstacle on the path of the weak, becomes a stepping stone in the path of the strong. Wonderful poem! With your annointed sword and your shield you shall be protected from any and all adversity. With God standing nearby no danger can befall you, for he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. Satan cannot touch you nor can you be defeated. You are definitely a warrior in charge of your own destiny This is a very powerful poem, it reminds me of the 91st Psalm from the book of Psalms. I loved this poem because you show so much courage. You are a warrior a soldier fighting in the army of God. A superb write from an even more superior mind.

i think i may have said this before, but still... kudos to you for standing up against whatever it is that's keeping you down. i think it's your history that kinda chains you... at least, that's what i gather from your poems and stuff. but i've always thought that one day you should definitely do something about it. and it really seems like that's where you're going with this. and i just have to say, that because of that attitude, you're among my list of people i respect greatly. much kudos to you. good luck with everything and godspeed.

Bravo! You echo my feeling exactly. I will never let anything get me down. Well maybe one and you know what it is. But I'm battling very day to reach my goals for the day. This is going to be a very important poem for me to remember. I'm bookmarking it. Reading and re-reading it as often as I need to. For I know that if I don't meet my goals daily, you will come after me with that sword of yours....OUCH!
