Lots of mystery and suspense in the tanka. There are questions in my mind: who died and how, why is the gardener now removing bindweed, etc. The reader is left wondering! Interesting and a little scary tanka. I'm glad it's not midnight here in Oman right now;-)

Very vivid image is left haunting my mind. Your words are carefully chosen, you know exactly how much to give away and how much to leave for the reader to grasp. Well done indeed

Nature's cycles
I like the levels of the 'unknown' cared for by the unknown suggested in this (and much more). Very well done.

I have understood your English.
I understood your poetry.
I cannot understand my English.
It is very fantastic.
Bindweed wants to be in bloom.

Meaningful
Hi Andrew:
I can sure picture this one. I'm sure it was done with tender care. The old gardner's were able to provide that tender touch with caring for the markers. Today, not so much. Thanks. Bill
