Half Way To God

Missing image
Will God still call me,
though my faith was not found.
Will he open his door,
will my soul stay in the ground.

Will I face the devil,
or wander for eternity.
Will he open the gate,
and let me walk with thee.

The search has been long,
spanning my entire life.
I've looked in good times and bad,
in sorrow and in strife.

Something deep inside me,
would not let it be.
Though his love was all around me,
my eyes, they could not see.

I need to see something,
something that's real,
something to touch,
to hold and to feel.

How I envy the people,
who can truly believe,
in life everlasting,
when it's their time to leave.

What was it that kept me,
from knowing God's love.
And the glorious wonders,
of Heaven above.

Believing half way,
has made me unsure.
Will God still want me,
will he open his door.

As I write this poem,
my eyes fill with tears,
If there's truly a God,
I've wasted so many tears.

HEy, I love this! Yes He has had the door open all the time! You know, all the years that you said you waisted, have really only been the blink of an eye. "What has a man gained if he looses life to gain the world?"-Jesus
There is far much more greatness in gaining Life in Christ after many years than there is gaining the world after any amount of time. Thanks for sharing!

Sandra, this is a truely wonderful poem. and I say the same as Click Here, Dry those eyes and believe.
I know God is here, I know he is here for everyone, not just the believers. He has helped me so many times, when my son was very ill, the doctor's had no idea how to treat him, the power of preyer brought him back to me, God has held my hand so many times, and I believe we will all get to see heaven in all its glory.
I really enjoyed reading this piece, everything about it is so perfect, well done
    Good luck in the contest
    Take care
    Elaine

The spirit of the Lord is in you and around you. This is written in the secret Gospels of St. Thomas. You are never so lost that God can't find you ,remember that.Your poem shows you are seeking. Good job. Jacki

Thank you for such kind words. It made me feel so much better by just writing my feelings in my poem. I only started writing a few weeks ago and I find it so easy to write about my feelings Thank you so much. Sandra

you have not wasted time, tears or the ability to search and seek the love you deserve from our Lord. He is everywhere you are. He is in the roses, the rays of the sun, the glitter of the water and all the glittering stars for he is the beginning and the end of all our eternity.
the doubt and fear is the devil. faith is knowing you are covered by his forgiveness and adorning love...
remember when you want to chastise yourself for sin we have already paid the price for when Jesus wept on the cross of nails he took upon himself all our grief and all our sins for eternal forgiveness.
    this touched me deeply
thank you for sharing your heart
    Tamara
