Nothing Short of Perfect

Slowly squint my eyes,
Trying to see beyond what my
Life just won't let me.

Quickly shut my mouth,
Afraid to say the single thing
That I most want to.

You are so much more than everything,
You are more than my only love,
You are more than just the one that got away,
You are nothing short of perfect.

Suddenly see myself,
Grasping at things I think are real
But just aren't there.

Finally convince my thoughts,
Realize things are in your hands, not in my mind.
