It's the color of the emotion
I so often feel.
It's the color of the clear sky
In which I delight.
It's the color of the ocean
That brings me peace.
It's the color my grandma wore
Whom I loved so dearly.
It's the color of my eyes
Which fill with tears,
For it's the color the brings
These tears to my soul.
Author notes
I thought it would be neat to write a poem about this color without acutually using the word.

This is beautiful Bob! I love that you don't use the word blue yet you can still most certainly know that that is what the colour is. This is a beautiful piece, like all your poems! Good luck in the contest! Read my entry if you get a chance. You know i value your opinion.

I agree. The poem includes several emotions. The tears are not just tears of sadness. Thanks for the comment.

My favourite colour, too. Blue is soothing! Blue is tranquil! Blue rejuvenates the soul! For me, Blue is not gloomy.

You're right. It is neat. Mostly because you /know/ what color it is (who /doesn't/ know what color the ocean is!) Very well done, and thought out! Good luck in the contest!
