Promises

there they are
made...
and broken
shared...
and never kept.
Is that what promises are?
like the one I made with you?
You said it couldn't be helped,
But you're not hurting
like I am.
trust to me
is a part of love
and my trust
for you
doesn't exist...
anymore.
so go
and tell your twisted lies
to someone else
as I cry for now
and live on
with my life.
Goodbye...
and don't come back.

    great

Promises and trust do go hand in hand breaking a the trust of one who promises is just as bad as breaking a promise. You make a good point in this poem its unfortunate that it has its roots in such sad inspiration.
