6 - The Lovers

The forest and the water…
    two completely different forms ~
Each attracted by the other,
    oblivious of resulting storms.

One side filled with logic,
and one full of magic dreams…
The Lovers dance between their worlds
    attempting harmony of opposing teams.
~ ~ ~
Romance may come and it may go,
    and all the trying while,
The battle lies within you
    to determine your true style.
Opposing forces face you
and draw you toward each side,
But use your head and not your heart
when at last you must decide.

Author notes

I wrote this series last summer and began posting them. I took the prose version of the Celtic Dragon Tarot interpretations and put it in verse form. I'd also included the illustrations, but was asked to remove it because of the copyright infringement. I'd given full credit to Conway and Hunt and didn't claim them for my own, but there were apparently other legalities.
So...for the legal beagles out there.... These are MY words, although they were inspired by Conway.

more to come....

Wow! This is quite an accomplishment you have here...I'm impressed and I can't imagine how much thought and work you must have put into all these. How very disappointing that you were not given permission to display the illustrations. That must be very frustrating for you. At any rate, your prose is very good...once again, I am impressed. Excellent series!

Well done! I enjoyed the read!

Very interesting! It is always hard to deal with emotions and logic when it comes to love because "the heart has a mind of its own".

nicolealyce...yes...the Lovers fit nicely into my own philosophy of our 3 selves...our mental, physical, and emotional...and getting or keeping them in sync is so difficult at times. Emotionally wanting one thing while Mentally knowing another choice is best, and being physically unable to make a choice. UGH! ...Trusting your instincts???or trusting your judgment??? Tough choice sometimes. ...I've learned to lean more toward my instincts. That seems easier than choosing between head or heart.
Thanks for stopping by to read and comment.

TillLemonsFall...Thank you for your words commenting on my work. Opposites of forest and water - and yet both reliant upon each other creating balance in our lives. As I study the cards more, I gain such a greater appreciation for them... I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Tarot is very interesting i would love to read more stuff like this! I like the ending on this one where you say use your head to decide, sometimes that is a lot smarter than relying on your heart, well in my opinion anyways. Very Nice.

I really enjoyed that...it was my cool drink of lemonade while sitting on the porch rocking in the swing on a sweltering summer day. Nicely done.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Inspiration from tarot. That is rather interesting. I think it makes the poem all the better. Your words fell out quite nicely, might I add. This was beautiful.
