Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

I wasn't actually familiar with this (like Gary). But it echoes soft and warm. It reminds me of a few that I miss so dearly, many more with whom I served that are there somewhere. Thank you very much for posting it. I would've never been able to read it otherwise. Mac

As A Veteran
I am very familiar with this poem. You can find it in navy chapels on any navy base. I am a retired navy chief. I am always grateful for people that truely respect the warriors of their clan. Nowadays, that is starting to become more rare. ~PeacE~GarY~ -
WONDERFUL COMMENT
Oh my friend I am so glad you came back to read it. It is a poem that is special to me. My dad was a veteran. He has passed but is with me everyday in my heart. God Bless you. Thank you for your warm comment. Take care, Sandy
