The Koen's, Craig and Laurie,
they have a son named Chris.
Chris has a best friend named Corey,
and a school day he hasn't missed.
Their lives are so perfect,
they believe greatly in God.
To no one do they show disrespect,
and their range of friends is very broad.
Now, Laurie, she's a teacher,
and, well, Craig is, too.
He used to be a youth preacher,
and was a music minister, too.
They have a cat named Meow Mix.
Lucky and Indy are their dogs.
The dogs love to fetch sticks,
and the cat loves to chase frogs.
Now, they also have a daughter,
Her name is Lauren and she's ten.
She loves the rain and water,
and watching T.V. in the den.
They live the perfect lives, don't you see?
If I could, I'd be a Koen, too.
Now let me ask you if you could be,
would you be a Koen, too?

easy to read
i dont think rhyming the same word together is that bad, as long as it doesnt sound obvious, and in this case it didnt. very easy to read enjoyable write. well done

I enjoyed this!
It seems the Koans have an idyllic life! Good rhyme scheme throughout the poem except for the last stanza (rhyming too and too).
Good Luck in the contest!
