No longer a child, now your a man,
time has come to let you go,
the years have flown by quickly,
is it too soon? I do not know.
My love for you son is never ending,
like the wind blowing in the trees,
sometimes it was too strong.
mostly a warm gentle breeze.
I held onto your hand,
did I hold too tight,
as I rocked you gently.
were there sweet dreams all night?
Teen years were hard and trying,
there were many rules for you,
always do your homework and chores,
in by curfew, do good in school.
Your wedding day is tomorrow,
it brings a new life for you,
now I must share you dear son,
no longer one, now you'll be two.
When blessed with your own child,
you will know what is right,
rock him gently to sleep,
don't hold his hand too tight.
Let your child know you love him,
do your best as I did for you,
when it's their time to leave,
saying good by will be easy to do.

*HOODWINKED*
Absolutely stunning. It is very hard to let a child go and you have shown just how a bond between a mother and a child is. You've done so well with this poem and such a lovely topic to write about. I'm very proud to have read this. By the way, you've been hoodwinked. Kassie
