Prejudice

Prejudice
is worse than ignorance...
it is cowardice.

What gives you the right
to make other people suffer
because you lack the moral courage
to look past the surface?

the Ku Klux Klan hides their faces behind hoods.
why?
Are they ashamed of their own beliefs,
or are they afraid of what someone might think of them,
if they saw who they were?

The Nazis wear their Swastikas
and pretend they are back in 1930s Germany
they are tough when the numbers
are ten against one,
but just try to get one to fight
when it's just you and him,
and you will never see a prettier shade of yellow.

and the Black Panthers
they won't admit it
but they are bigots too.
using words like "cracker" and "honkey"
like that's acceptable.
They sure hate to be called "nigger"
so, why do they use racist terms?

perhaps the world really would be a better place
if we were all the same race
or same religion
or spoke the same language
or all came from the same social/economic background...

THEN all people could be judged solely on their merits

BUT...
that is not the real world
and it will never be.
so, DEAL WITH IT!

having differences is the price we pay
for our individuality,
and I wouldn't have it any other way
SO...
to all you Racists...
Get a grip on yourselves
get some guts
and start using your minds
and stop looking
for a coward's refuge in hate.

    wow.

Oh my gosh!! That was awesome!! More people need to read this one!! I agree with everything you say..prejudice and racism..going hand in hand destroying our world bit by bit. Some people don't even realize some of the things they say are offensive. I applaud for I cannot say anymore. WOW.

Well said! I found this read after reading a comment you posted on Racism Demon.. I found it a bit ironic. So.. I engulfed in my reading of you... and I totally agree with everything you've said here. They do hide...as if ashamed of what they are...and I, myself, find that to be nothing short of funny. I stand up tall and say what I feel, and I am who I am, I don't hide, too bad they can't. This was a great write, with alot of points and truth within the words. Excellent job and good luck in the contest
