Can you feel me tease your senses?
Just a whiff and you are mine.
My essence lingers in your memory;
On my bouquet lovers dine.
In your boudoir filled with passion
My perfume, permeates the air.
It’s not lust that gives me life;
It’s the fragrance of sweet love I wear.
Does my heady scent call to you?
Rich and spicy on your tongue.
Pungent juices stimulating;
Captures hearts of old and young.
None escape me once anointed
Oils on your hair and skin
Saturating all creation
Calming hate ~ removing sin
My aroma permeates,
Till your soul for me you’d trade.
I’m the essence of true love,
And I swear I’ll never fade.

i predict a trophy for this one
as others have noted, this had a very romantic feel
almost victorian, yet very sensual at the same time
bravo,

Very prettyful and fragrant
Your rhyming/meter/flow is well done and smooth. This entices the senses and I think you have done well with this contest

wonderful poem..and feels so true...wonderful way of looking at this..GREAT JOB
-
i love the way you described yourself here... eau de love? hehehehe (sorry, my freakin' brain!!) and i think you're right, the essence of love never fades (but there are a few scents that momentarily drown it out)... anyway, that's my oddball take on it
nicely done

A classic, romantic poem. I like the way you evoke not just sensual love but also the love in the heart. Really, this could almost have been written, or dreamt, by Aphrodite.
-
This reminded me a lot of the old romance novels I read and it made me smile. I like the ryhme you used in it, and it had a very good flowI really liked the 2nd stanza for some reason. But anyhow, very good write. Good luck in the contest!

Well....that's certainly an interesting piece of work. I love the traits and abilities you gave the scent...it just hits on such a deeper level and makes you think. Great for a poem about something so simple. And I would definitely like to know what perfume, or whatever is giving you that scent you're talking about...maybe get a female friend of mine the same thing. I like the effects it seems to have, lol. Great write
