My Underwater Fantasy

Missing image
Surrounded by a sea of blue,
I'm sinking down, far down under.

Searching for hidden treasure,
I gaze intensely as I wander.

Far below, in cold, dark water,
I spy exactly what I'm after.

Gold doubloons, nuggets, too;
I must swallow spiels of laughter.

Rich beyond my wildest dreams,
I feel my heart go pitter-patter.

A friendly dolphin nudges me,
I grab hold, we splish and splatter.

In this unearthly paradise,
I'm as crazy as a hatter.

But this is still my fantasy...
I'm in charge, it doesn't matter.

and what a marvelous fantasy indeed!!!! It would be great if we could just swim the seas for as long as we wanted and escape all the turmoil and hustle and bustle of the surface!!! You drew me in with the currents of a magical and enchanted experience under the sea Love the background and the little mermaid...a very nice added touch to such a delightful poem!!! Good luck in the contest..I really hope this one wins you a trophy

    Dear Maureen,
What a delightful write!! If, with your hoard of gold doubloons and nuggets, you take blushfulmoon on vacation with you as she suggests, it will leave quite a gap in my harem till you both get back. Who knows though? There maybe some new initiates by then!
Well, if you can have your fantasy, I can have mine!!
I love the cool blue background and your cool poem. COOL babe!!
Applause and good luck in the contest.
    Love and hugs, XXX Hugh.

Thank you, Cheryl! "The Little Mermaid" is my favorite Disney animated movie. I have a poster of Ariel and my sister made me a really cute doll. Love the story and the songs! I agree with you about her age when she got married, though..even 18 or 21 can be too young.

What a sweet poem, I always loved Ariel. As a mom, I wished she was older than 16 when she got married. Why don't we change the fairy tales to 18 or 21....can't we do that? Love the background as well. kudos! Cheryl

Ah crikey...I thought "nuggets" was a euphemism! It was the title, the whole fantasy thing had me swimming in the wrong direction. (Dirty minded Sailor!)
Treasure would do just fine though. I enjoyed the whimsical feel of this (once I got over the embarrassment of my first thoughts) and liked the little mermaid too. Cheers
