Popeye(Clerihew)

A very strong man was Popeye
Many great things did this guy try
Most he could not finish
Until he ate gobs of spinach.

Billbard i do thank you for sharing this delightful Popeye verse here. I have read a few of your 'silly ryhmes' and see that you are gifted at rhyme. i wish this was a bit longer, but sometimes less is more. Popeye has so many wonderful qualities as a cartoon sailor. you have on here that you invite a critical review..it is difficult to say anything critical on a light cartoon poem, it is , after all, written for the lighthearted entertainment. Your four lines are humorous, i smiled when i read them, and i always like that an engineer has a sense of humour (i am married to a scientist, he works with many engineers at NASA that have the dry wit of a cactus so it is refreshing that you write such as this.) thank you again for your entry, and best of luck always!

It's interesting...something somebody would rattle off after a 6-pack, lol, so I guess in that sense, picturing that scenario, it's not bad.
