I can see the window
You open it to let me fly in
To see the love that is within
But I have flown too fast
And the glass has shattered
Gone before we had time to begin
Upon a final shard I am perched
Before the opening you placed a screen
A blockade that is in between
I am not quite sure
Which of us put it there
Its presence to me is unclean
I cannot rip away at it
Or will I even hope to try
To help the two of us get by
I leave my perch and fly around
Hoping to find another window
For now and ever goodbye
For now and ever goodbye
Author notes
I have written this song to a good friend whose relationship has shattered recently. She told me that she saw a painting and told me a whole interpretation about it.
