high above the people's sky
they look down over us only to cry.
the great gifts given;
misused, abused and ungreatful -
humans tend to be!
whatever happened to concepts of deity?
certainly all would be taken back
history has dated that fact.
it's only a matter of time,
before the end of the line...
hear the azalea's cry!
a flower to live by:
azalea ~ the flower of temperance and patience;
lost in absence
it's only a matter of time,
before the deities end our life line...

This is a very powerfully written piece. I'm glad you entered it into the contest. It is true, I imagine the Gods do shudder with shame to see the actions of many mortals. Sad really...
