Good-bye My Mother Dear

Missing image
Good-bye my mother dear.
My country calls and I must go
Off to war to right a wrong upon our foe.

A life for a life – justice must be done
Our people are lying dead
With no graves in which to lay their head.

We invade their land and are justified.
We are right and they are wrong.
They are weak and we are strong.

We must protect our soil
With a preemptive strike.
Into their hearts we’ll create such a fright.

They are brutal killers
Who must be stopped at all cost.
No matter what the price nor what is lost

Good-bye my mother dear.
My country calls and I must go
Off to war to right a wrong upon our foe.

A life for a life – justice must be done.
Our people will be lying dead
With no graves in which to lay their head.

They invade our land so we are justified.
We are right and they are wrong.
They are weak and we are strong.

We must protect our soil
And stop this unjustified strike.
Into their hearts we’ll create such a fright.

They are brutal killers
Who must be stopped at all cost.
No matter what the price nor what is lost

Good-bye my mother dear
My grave called and I had to go
To die in war to right a wrong upon our foe.

It's actually meant to be from the perspective of two different soldiers on each side of the war.
