Paranoia

Please, please stop following me
After me, always after me
Right behind me, you think I’m not aware
Aware of the footsteps so quietly following
Noises in the dark
Oh, I know you are there
Invisible to the rest of the world it may seem
And all I can do is keep my eyes open

............but I grow so tired

All the laughter, no one believes
It must be a conspiracy
Oh yes, they’re all part of this game
No wonder I get so many stares
Always watching me, my every move
Right behind my every step
Anonymous glances, staring…staring
Please, please make them stop…stop following me

............I am too tired

    But I can’t sleep
Must

Stay

Alert

...Or they will catch me
