Romance ~ you have to always give it a chance
otherwise you might miss out on that one perfect dance
and never meet that woman who will put you in a hypnotic trance.
The one that will make you feel like a school boy
like the excitement you felt when opening your first christmas toy
making you jump up and down with such oveflowing joy.
Romance ~ can make your heart beat a love song
It can make you lose sense of what's right or wrong
or give you happiness all your life long.
Never take it all for granted
otherwise you may become disenchanted
and feel that you have been slanted.
Romance ~ brings love and affection
it can at times offer such welcoming protection
and give you many days of good recollection.
At times you want it to accelerate
sometimes even playing with it's fate
tempting the outcome you want to create.
Romance ~ such a smile it can bring
it can put your life in full swing
happy memories starting to cling.
Trying to keep yourself from losing sight
of how it can always be such a delight
like holding hands on a midsummer night.
Romance ~ is to be appreciated and enjoyed
keep it alive and never let it be destroyed
or most likely you will end up with nothing else but a void.
Your heart will ache and your soul will cry
things in your life will start to go awry
so keep it fresh, keep it alive as if it was your happiness supply.

Not bad but I found it a little sing-song. maybe you should try for a more complex ryme sceme. I find that romance poems are complex in there emotion and that should be reflected in the rythm.
It feels more like a hip hop beat that a love ballad, but maybe thats what you werte trying for. Good work though.
