Messengers of Light

Missing image

An angel is a messenger
They do not all have wings
Though 'wings' are just their aura
Spreading wide to touch your soul

They come in many shapes and forms
Some are sent in deep disguise
Many know not that they are
Yet a Few, sent from heaven,
Will Know their duty's Call

Aquaintance, friend, a stranger
Or loved-one from the Other Side
We have all felt their touch
Sometime, somewhere, somewhat
Yet we rarely realized when
It was an angel passing by

We must never fail in kindness
To strangers that we meet
They could be those angels
Sent to help us understand
There is no place, or soul so dark
That Loving Light cannot reach

Author notes

'Angel': from the Greek, aggelos : messenger.

"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2

    So true

This is very well versed and the flow was excellent. Woderfully descriptive and the picture and background are just stunning. Very easy to understand. Extend a hand to a stranger and it will come back to you 10 times over. Bravo!

maatkara, you did a great job on this. And you are right. We don't know when we might be ministering to angels unaware, just like the Bible says. childlike faith

    Beautiful

I so much agree with this. Content wise we agree completely. I like the feel of the ebb and flow of this piece. I myself had an angel on earth at one point he was taken away. But he's still my angel and I can feel his presence at the most unexpected times. I strive to be this type person to someone before I die. I will look forward to more of your works.

Angels ... how ordinary they may appear, but how divine they are, those protectors full of light, guidance, service.... When heaven sends angels, eyes may miss them, but see the evidence of their loving kindness. On occasion, one is privileged to hear that powerful still small voice through them!

    isn't this just awesome ?
    thank you, dear angel.

This is a beautiful poem in regards to the angels. Your flow and imagery were great as I could see the angels flying about. You are correct and the angels are sent to us as messengers to help us find the light of the Lord above. They lead us to the most special place in the World. There job is great; above all man to show us to a peace in the World unlike any other. I felt that peace while reading this poem.

    beautiful

This speaks of exactly what i believe in ( whom and what angels are) and I know I have encountered some on an almost daily basis ...friends and strangers , and sometimes just a little voice that speaks to me ...I call it my conscience , but the advice I get from it does come from an angel

This is a lovely poem about angels. I know you read my poem about angels, so you know how I feel about them. I like that you think angels touch our lives when we least expect them to. Thank you for your kind comments. I was really surprised, pleasantly, to win the contest. So many wonderful poems.

This is simply beautiful. I am astounded by the flow, and how perfeectly it went with the subject..I feel like I was being caught up into a heavenly place. I also really like your ideas about angels. I have met those rare people who I would call angels, and no I don't think they even realized that their auro, or heavenly nature glowed and was light in a way they would never realize. My poem Unrequited Love is actually inspired by htis angelic nature of someone. And as you really explained and helped me understand- it's not unrequited after all.(I keep the title to remind me of this lesson I learned).

    Loving Light!

Lovely poem that flies with the wings of hope and love - a beautiful message and a guiding light (just like the angels)! Your poems touch hearts in many shapes and forms and I'm sure there is "no place or soul so dark that this loving light can not reach" - thank you for your Loving Light! Beautiful background and graphics (as always)!

I was always struck by the exhortation in Hebrews 13:2...
