Night Time Comes To Tell

night time comes to tell
ghostly freight train lies
stretched for miles on
high and waterless plains
singing muted melodies
compressed in the bell
stymied like a nagging
smoke strained cough

haunting siren’s song
painfully fragile and alone
destined to call forever
across the city’s black
and steel gray stone
weaving sleepily
through the rooms
forever drifting
dancing with the moon

night time comes to tell
secrets whispered in the wind
swept heights of dusty plains
chanting forbidden melodies
sacred to the ancient
lost among the few

haunting siren’s song
frightfully familiar yet wrong
destined to rise forever
above the city’s steel
and black grave stones
appearing ghost like
through the rooms
